Hi first off i'm new, so hi, and please let me know if I'm not doing something properly.

OK so I'm looking for advice in the upcoming Surrey Local Election.

Murray seems the better of the two Mayoral Candidates so that's fine. I was able to pick out some sane-seeming trustee candidates. But the field of Councillor candidates seems quite dry, and I'm having a hard time picking 8 out of this bunch. Here's the field:

Councillor Candidate Profiles

BHANDARI JB (Jag)
BOSE Bob
GILL Rina
GILL Tom
HEPNER Linda
HILLSDON Paul
HOFFMAN Gary
HUNT Marvin
KEENAN Bernadette
MARTIN Mary
MCMURTRY Jim
MURTSELL Neil
RASODE Barinder
RICE Grant
ROBINSON Gary
RYAN Stephanie
SINGH Partap
STEELE Barbara
VILLENUEVE Judy
WOLANSKI John

Anyone got any recommendations? I heard the Surrey Civic Coalition is left-leaning, is this true? Let this topic also serve as just a general discussion on the Surrey Local Election.

Thanks!

Hi Jozsef... welcome aboard!

Yes, the Surrey Civic Coalition is left-leaning.

Another left-leaning candidate is Judy Villeneuve who is a past NDP candidate in Surrey federally.

For whatever reason, she ran as an independent in 2005 and has joined right-leaning Surrey First (due perhaps to her apparent good working relationship with the current mayor) but nevertheless she still continues her left-leaning beliefs in terms of social housing, the poor, and social justice.
