Attached is a comprehensive report on xenophobia and antisemitism today published out of Britain. I thought it deserved to be shared.

My concern about that interpretation - accurate though it may be - is that the neoconservatives tend to use it as an excuse to attack Arabs as such and to suggest that the presence of Arabs is the main threat to Jews in the West.

Example.

The targeting of any racial/ethnic/religious/etc group is reprehensible. I would suggest that not many, Jew and non-Jew support the positions presented in your link. We must not shrink from exposing racist attitudes, xenophobia and antisemitism.

It is one thing exposing racist, religious and ethnic hate/fear, it is not too hard to find, but it would be lot more usefull to suggest a cure. Just saying that it is wrong and meating out punishment is rather ineffective. There are many people with genuine fears of other religions, races and cultures, do we have to isolate them in their fears?

We all have an axe to grind. Some of us just haven't found it yet. Lucky the man who has, and is dedicated to grinding it on every available stone.

Ok, lagatta: Do we laugh, or do we cry, or do we go up like firecrackers?

You know what I'm feeling, with my two blackies. Sick would be an understatement.

At the same time, I know what phobias are like, and boy, if I knew I were living in a country where so many people shared that phobia, I would get my black cats out of there very quickly.

Who knew? The poor idiots.

Where does that superstition come from? It was very popular in Europe in the past. But owning a black cat was supposed to be good luck...

My kitty is black too, but she has a little white fur (just a few hairs) on her chest and belly. I wonder if that qualifies her as "black."
