I just received this URGENT CALL FOR SUPPORT:

Early this morning, police raided a land protection site in Brantford that was being held by grassroots activists from Six Nations. Currently, 3 people are in jail with at least 5 more surrounded by cops. The are asking that support come to the site in the way of people, and supplies.

The site in Brantford, on Fen Ridge Court at the Oak Park Road exit of the 403 is the same one that was originally shut down by Floyd and Ruby Montour in the winter, and was also shut down by representatives from the Confederacy Council in July, and again by the Haudenosaunee Men's Fire earlier this month.

A group has maintained the site beside the Hampton Inn development site in a tepee for over 50 days, upholding the declaration put forward by the Men's Fire that these sites should be shut down pending settlement of outstanding land disputes. Further, all three sites that have been targeted from the tepee-base camp have been sited as posing ecological threats; the Fen Ridge industrial development area is located in an environmentally sensitive area less than a kilometer from the Grand River.

A callout for support has been sent from activists at Six Nations.

To get to the site:
take the 403 to Brantford, exit at Oak Park Road, turn left at the T junction off the exit, then take the first right onto Fen Ridge; the site should be evident across from the Proctor and Gamble distribution facility (look for the tepee and flags).

What is needed most is a straightforward showing of support and a presence on site.
