quote: A poll taken for a conservative Christian group of Washington voters shows that justices on the state Supreme Court and Democrats could take a beating in the next election if the court approves same-sex marriage.
The survey shows that more than half (54 percent) of the people polled said they would be less likely to vote for a justice who supported overturning the state's Defense of Marriage Act.
The poll posed the marriage question to 504 voters across the state. It was done by the Elway Research, a Washington-based polling company for the Faith and Freedom Network.
FFN believes that homosexuality is a matter of choice and can be "cured" by faith in God.
In an interview with the Olympian newspaper FFN chair Joseph B. Fuiten was asked if the poll was meant to be a warning justices and Democrats to oppose gay marriage.
"I think a person who is thinking about it would realize there is a political consequence to it," said Fuiten.
The survey also found that 60 percent of respondents said they want a decision to be made by voter not by the courts or the legislature.

Just another example of why letting a majority of the population decide on the rights of a minority is such a ridiculous and dangerous concept.
