Fire and brimstone, North American style. It'd be even funnier if her family didn't look so sad/scared.

Crazy Christian Lady on Trading Spaces

LOL!LOL!LOL!

She's apparently a "prayer warrior".

They need to hide her away in the basement.

Sigh... if only it was something so prestigious as Trading Spaces. That was Trading Spouses. I'd say only on FOX would such a show exist, but ABC airs the equally despicableWife Swap.

Support your sanity and local actors equity member and call for the end of crappy reality tv! (And possibly also the return of This is Wonderland but that's another thread.)

BC NDPer,
Went to the link but couldn't run the video(2% download after 5min)

I'm, sure that, by accident, I caught most of the show on tv. First time watching and became mesmerized. Couldn't believe it. First reaction: Can this be for real? For the sake of those poor children the "God" woman should have been institutionalised for observation, or at the very least, separated from the children before she does irreparable damage to them.

I don't know how the hell any man could live with her. What could she possibly offer him?

It did smell a little of "setup" though - swapping a religious "extremist" deaf to anything but her beliefs, with an astrologer.

I also caught most of the show, by accident (when you run on rabbit ears accidents happen sometimes). I felt sorry for the lady and felt they were torturing her to some extent, it indeed it was at all true. I am sure there is already somebody doing this, but someone should be comparing these reality show participants with Jerry Springer's guests.

I caught the show too. It made me wonder where the line is between expressing firm beliefs and actively harming your children. My first thought was that Social Services needed to remove those children from that home. Then I thought about it some more, and came to a completely different opinion: if she's not actively harming the kids, it's none of the government's business how crazy or mean-spirited her beliefs may be. I'm still not sure what I think, exactly.

So go Reality TV for raising a hard philosophical question!

Big If. I get the impression from what I've heard that she was basically systematically thwarting and breaking the spirit of the younger one, at least. Of course, that's based on my interpretation of hearsay about a TV show's take on someone's life.

Or at least be there to help explain to them gently that the swap isn't permanent.

Hey kids, I'll tell you What Jesus Would Do: He'd pack His sandals and His beard trimmer and then He'd make like a banana, and split.
