I don't know that it's necessarily that workplaces don't have standards or that they just don't care -- it could be simply a difference of ethic. If the boss values freedom of organizations to express and promote themselves over a workers' specific ideals and beliefs she isn't necessarily in the wrong. She may simply have a different perspective.
It could also be that she can't afford to turn away a customer. Sometimes you have to compromise in order to make a go of it.
As an employer, I can't say I'd be all that receptive to being taken to task by an employee over the ethics of my business decisions. I'd avoid that chat if I were "Uncomfortable". Bad, bad, bad idea if continued employment is on the agenda...
