A GREAT IDEA FOR YOU, YOUR FRIENDS AND COWORKERS - PASS IT ON!

At home do a quick sort of the next-to-new childrens books that you and your family have grown out of then donate them to a public library in your area.

We all have material in our homes that could benefit the greater community with those resources that we no longer need ourselves. Please help us all deliver on literacy. If you love reading.. we want your help! With your support.. we can make a big difference in our communities.

February is 'I LOVE TO READ' Month and libraries and other literacy organizations are getting together to make a big impact on literacy across Canada. This idea is sweeping from community to community and region to region. More and more people are jumping onboard and together our impact is awesome in its magnitude.

Libraries are fundamentally an institution dedicated to literacy and lifelong learning in Manitoba. In order to raise support for literacy groups and to raise the awareness of libraries as literacy-related institutions; we are asking you to engage your community in an exciting initiative. Other ways to help would be to call up your local nursery program or daycare facilities and ask if they would like some books.. Every region in Manitoba has literacy programs and services.. why not offer them some of your holdings. Check with your school libraries to see if they could use some too!
