The Supreme Court says it will hear arguments on whether the B.C. government's contract-breaking law violates the equality and freedom of association rights of health care workers in B.C. On trial is the 2002 legislation that shredded legally negotiated collective agreements paving the way for an unprecedented privatization of health care services and the mass firing of more than 8,000 health care workers – mostly women.

I will be (pleasantly) surprised if a majority of this particular court finds in favour of the union.
