quote:
Over a period of several weeks, Jewish settlers have spread toxic chemicals on Palestinian fields south of the West Bank city of Hebron, a statement released by the human-rights group said.

The statement also charged that Israeli authorities are turning a blind eye to the incidents in Israeli-controlled areas of the West Bank.

“To date, the Israeli authorities have not cleaned the toxic chemicals ... and have not taken the necessary measures to investigate the matter with a view to bringing those responsible to justice,” said the statement from the London-based human-rights group.

The Globe, interestingly, seems to have a policy of calling the settlers "Jewish settlers" (as here), presumably because they are not in Israel but are squatters on Palestinian land, although I guess Israel considers them to be Israelis.

Never noticed that before.

What?! This is also incredibly environmentally insensitive. Who knows what the hell will happen now that these chemicals have been introduced into the environment? For all we know they'll get into the water table and poison who knows how many hundreds of people who rely on underground aquifers for water.

I don't think these stupid arrogant SOBs understand the ramifications of their actions. They are really so blinded by hate that they're no better than garden-variety right-wing white supremacists here in Canada.

Wouldn't it be something if the colonists' children started getting sick because of the contamination of the aquifer? Then maybe they'd think twice about doing it again.
