Marines storm ashore in Nitzanim

The IDF refused to release more details in keeping with a policy dictated by the United States to minimize reports of Israeli-US military cooperation.

I'd guess major allies practice wargames as a matter of course - no surprises there.

Military sources said the operation was code named "Kaya Green."
They should have just called it "Desert Bloom".

Naturally, but one should be reminded that Iran has a coast line.

It has even been said that some US soldiers practiced, and are learned urban wrafare and population supression techniques in Jenin and elswhere in the territories. This in preperation for Iraq. Who has more experience in dealing with Arab insurgent populations than the Israelis?

Also, there were reports of Israel interogators at Abu Ghraib. Combine this with the fact that many Israelis hold both US and Israeli passports, there is no reason to doubt that a number of IDF personel took time off from the IDF to participate in the Iraq invasion and occupation.

This kind of thing underscores the inability of the US to protray itself as an impartial interlocutor between Palestinian Arabs and their Israeli adversaries.
