They do a fine job of moderating this and other forums. Which leads me to a question - is the proper word forums or fora?

(I have nothing. I just wanted to bump that other thread down a notch.)

How about "foray"?

Judging by the vituperativeness of some of the debates here we could use a word that means "a sudden attack."

fora makes it sound like a vicious jungle with michelle and audra in panama hats valiantly slashing and slashing their way through sentient undergrowth.

If you take out the "sentient," that sounds about right some days.

I think 'forums' is fine - but otherwise I think it would be 'forii'.

That would be if the word was 'forus' (masculin). I think forum is neuter (feminin would be fora, plural forae), and its plural is... I can't recall. Fora, I think.

Both are correct - the Latin plural of forum is fora, but there is no reason it can't be anglicised or gallicised. So: fora or forums.

Those Roman ruins are wonderful sanctuaries for CATS.

By the way, I concur. Audra and her helpmeet Michelle do a wonderful job keeping their cool amidst nazi and nasty trolls and simple babblers who have lost our cool ....
