Sharon Comes Under Heavy Fire for Separation Plan

quote:
JERUSALEM (Reuters) - Prime Minister Ariel Sharon (news - web sites) drew fire from Israel's main U.S. ally and all sides in the Middle East Friday for a pledge to sever Israelis from Palestinians within months if peace talks fail.

The plan would deny Palestinians land they want for a state and keep them behind a controversial barrier through the West Bank, but also involve shifting Jewish settlers away from Palestinian population centers to shorten security lines.

Sharon says Israel will take unilateral steps only if "peace talks fail". Being a creature of war and destruction, The Butcher's presence in these "peace talks" guarantees their imminent failure and it will only be a matter of time before he gets to build his Palestinian ghettos.

The US opposition here smacks of the same old lip service they usually interject into Israel's military threats and violence.
