Old texts in English of the Israeli based Libertarian Communist organisation Matzpen on-line

Matzpen Materials are up on Endpage at http://www.endpage.com/Archives/Subversive_Texts/Matzpen/ Enjoy!!

T.: "I am researching materials from Matspen to try and get them into digital format and out for greater circulation on the Internet."

Two of these were written by M., and published in ISRACA; and the third by a Matzpen sympathizer, using a pen-name, and published in Khamsin.

ISRACA (Israeli Socialist Revolutionary Action Committee Abroad) was an info journal published by Matzpen members and supporters living outside Israel. It was later superseded by Khamsin, a journal published (first in French, then -- beginning from issue # 5 -- in English, by a coalition of socialists from various Middle-East countries, including Israel. Most of the Israeli participants in and contributors to Khamsin were Matzpen members or supporters; of these some were Israeli Jews and some Israeli Palestinians.

There are two English-language sources in print that you can scan (preferably using OCR) and convert to digital format.

1. The Other Israel, edited by Arie Bober, published in 1972 by Doubleday (Anchor series). This is an anthology of official Matzpen documents (ie position statements issued by Matzpen as a group) as well as articles written by individual Matzpen members. This book is long our of print, and you will have to find it in some library.

2. Issues 5 - 14 of Khamsin. Most of the Israeli contributors were Matzpen members or supporters. It may be difficult for you to obtain these issues, unless you have access to and exceptionally good library. But there exists an anthology of some of the best material from Khamsin. It is called Forbidden Agendas, and was published in 1984 by Al Saqi (26 Westbourne Grove, London W2, UK). Wouldn't be surprised if they still have a few copies in stock. Of course, a copy can also be found in a good library. If you want to use some articles fromn this collection.

[Ed. Note: If you have any electronic texts of Matspen - please send to messmer@endpage.com or to nali@ainfos.ca]
