Sharon was never serious about a Palestinian state anyway. The most he would have given were a series of ghettoized enclaves. He finally has a government dear to his heart. He doesn't have to worry about the left, or the center for that matter. He doesn't have to worry about the financial demands of the Shas and UTJ. He has his neo-fascist buddies in One Nation and the NRP close at hand. And he can let Netanyahoo try to turn the economy into a neo-liberal paradise. Plus, he has Israel's version of Jesse Ventura, Tommy Lapid, to be the court jester.
