Yes, i have read other stuff about this research as well and find it very progressive in its thinking and its successes. However it also runs into the same sort of illicit drug prejucdices that hamstring all drug addiction treatments. Unfortunately the link you provided has not article attached.

This has been studied for decades.

LSD therapy was used successfully to treat alcoholism in Saskatchewan during the 1950s.

Ibogaine has been used to treat cocaine, heroin and tobacco addiction. Marc Emery used to run the world's only free ibogaine clinic.

Of course, the main reason for government intransigence towards realistic and adequate resources for the addicted is the incredible level of prejudice Canadians have towards this segment of the population. Fine and dandy if you have enough money and status to get into a Betty Ford type clinic where you will be pampered and seldom referred to as a junkie or addict.

But if your a person of limited means and are highly visible in the community then your consigned to the dung heap of humanity.
