Retired three star Lt. Gen. William Odom, writing for, wrote that while President George W. Bush wants to bring democracy and stability to the Middle East, the only way to achieve that goal is for the U.S. armed forces to get out of Iraq now.

"... Iraq is the worst place to fight a battle for regional stability. Whose interests were best served by the U.S. invasion of Iraq in the first place? It turns out that Iran and al-Qaida benefited the most, and that continues to be true every day U.S. forces remain there."

What a great President! He invades, causes thousands to lose their lives, and benefits "Iraq and Al Quaeda most."

So, where was Lt. Gen. William Odom three years ago? Now that the rush is on, Bush is getting a lot of flack. But, before the war started, most Americans were totally supportive. This is what worries me the most. After all this has died down, another President will invade another country with the same lousy patriotic excuses and Americans will have forgotten Iraq they way they forgot Vietnam and another population will be decimated.

Odom is one of the good guys, in my book. Many anti-war people have been heaping praise on Wilkerson, for his recent candor. No one mentions that Wilky says that now the US must move on Syria, then Iran, over the next decade.

China will wring the US's nuts when they try.
