CBC Story
quote:

WASHINGTON - The U.S. army commander in Iraq says the situation on the ground suggests the war could last much longer than planners had thought.

"It's beginning to look that way," Lt.-Gen. William Wallace, commander of V Corps, told The New York Times and The Washington Post Thursday.

Wallace is in trouble with American political leaders by admitting what observers and reporters in Iraq have been saying for several days – that the ground war is not going according to plan.

Remember the term "Groupthink" ? It fell out of use as the Republocrats began their 20-year-plus reign of error in 1980.

Time to dust that one off.

They're sending another 120,000 troops to join the party. That should tell you something.

When the craziness started it was "days and weeks" and "shock and awe" now its "weeks and months"

I think that Rummy et company serious underestimated Iraqi forces. They may have thrown up their hands in surrender in Kuwait, but they have more at stake when their own country is invaded by an imperalistic foreign power.
