Still, whichever Carlyle company makes the Patriot must be ecstatic that after 20 years of development, it finally hit something. At least they didn't hit an American plane. Now that would be a scandal.

Yeah, the British public must be pretty cowed at this point to take that kind of crap without an uproar. Friendly fire, sure... but these are supposedly "smart" systems. Doesn't the Patriot have a Friend Or Foe capability? Isn't that a 70's technology?
