I have a question that no one seems to be able to answer.

If the pilot on the plain had been armed with a stun gun as is proposed by many airlines. Would shooting the bomber with the stun gun had detonated his shoes???

That's a good question, probably best left for experts in "C-4", which is the explosive that was packed into the shoes, I think.

I guess the question is if C-4 needs a spark to set it off, or just an electical current. I'm thinking electrical triggers might be just spark producers?

Hmm. I don't think walking across a carpet in winter and petting a cat while wearing shoe bombs would be a good idea, would it?

Al Jezeera had a quote from bin Laden on this by the way:

"I used to be sad that I had no bombs, until I met a man with no shoe bombs."

I think the experts should answer it definitively before arming pilots with stun guns
