One of the most interesting threads I encountered after beginning to participate here a month and a half ago was the original thread about the compartmentalization of the site. I particularly liked it when Michelle was upfront and pointed out that some of the things being mentioned were simply the result of costs/efforts that would be involved in changing the original configuration (as opposed to saying that they were part of some subtle but perfectly well thought out master plan). I also enjoyed the jocularity of the original exchanges about the geographical "peculiarities" of the site.

Prior to the thread "drifting" (or was it more of an avalanche), there was mention made of uncertainty about how threads would be moved onto a new system etc. I have searched both the Introductions & Frequently Ask Questions and Rabble Reactions compartments (admittedly only back for one year) for an explanation of what will happen when the system moves, but I could not find a thread explaining what impact such a move might have on the existing division of threads.

If anyone can point me in the direction of such an explanation (thread) I would appreciate it. I would even go so far as to suggest that it would be worthwhile to have such a thread front and center in the Introductions & FAQ compartment (frequently bumped to the top if necessary).

On a related note, I would refer to a thread from March of this year about The Best Place for Gay Issues and say that, as a newcomer, I find the absence of such a place a little off-putting on a progressive board.

Hope this is back on topic, and again, if an appropriate thread exists discussing what the board will look like and how it will be structured after the move and re-launch, I hope some kind soul (or even a nasty soulless person) will direct me there.
