Shees! They set up another Parliament while I wasn't watching.

But they're behind schedule. The five countries of the Andean Community (Colombia, Peru, Venezuela, Ecuador, and Bolivia) decided in April 1997 that direct elections to the Andean Parliament would take place within five years. Venezuela and now Peru have done so, but what about the others?

It's a bit less than democratic. Columbia (46.6 million people) has 5 MPs, as does Bolivia (9.3 million) and the others in between.

Still, it's a step.
