Well, many of you know that I was a member of the Liberal party for a while ( ).

Well a long time ago, I decided to cut up my membership card. Since then, I've finally found my wallet, and cut it up into 6 pieces, and I have since lost track of them all. if I find them- Into the fireplace they go!

I've still got a little bit of a problem. Not a real problem. More of a choice than a problem. -What party do I join? I know I'm going to support NPI, and I hope that eventually we do have a party based on the principles expressed in that initiative. Once we do, I'll join it, but until then, I've got some less definite choices.

Here's a list of parties I'm considering:

no affiliation, NDP, Canadian Action Party, Marijuana Party, Humanist Party, and Green Party.

So the reason I made this topic is not so much to get people to help me, but to examin what these groups have in common, where they differ, and perhaps how to form an alliance if need be

Some other parties that I probably won't be joining, but that are still pretty good and relevant include The Socialist Party of Canada, The Communist Party of Canada, The Communist Party (Marxist-Leninist), and Socialist Alternative

Also, here are some Québec leftist parties; Parti de la Démocratie Socialiste, Parti Communiste du Québec, Parti Marxiste-Leniniste du Québec, L'Union des Forces Progressistes, Parti Vert du Québec, et Rassemblement Pour L'Alternative Progressiste.

So. What to do?

Politics are only of interest to those who can't make money, or love.

This is the second thread you've posted that opinion in, but you still haven't answered which one you can't make - love or money, since you keep posting on a politically oriented discussion board.

I'm thinking with your social skills, it's love primarily.

Hey Earthmum, don't put saskzen down for that. It's clean, it's harmless, and it's safe. And when you've spent as much time as I have stuffed in lockers, it's well... comforting. Blinky understands.

BTW, ya mind calling Sears security and tell them to do a locker check.

So Meades, as a result of recent revelations by the Ontario Finance Minister, will you be cutting up your Sears card?

Yes I read about your horrible ordeal. (giggle) I phoned the store to see if I could get any more information and they said that they would have had you out sooner but no one would spring for the quarter.

Actually, I have no interest in politics. That is why I come to an N.D.P. Group Think tank.

I posted that comment twice, because it would be an interesting thread for further discussion.

I hope its not a problem to be interesting?

No need to. I never go to Sears. My sister told me quite a long time ago that Sears was just a high priced Zellers- And I've seen no proof to the contrary

saskzen, in an earlier life, your name wasn't Lalance, was it? How about tiger 999?

(On second thought, forget about tiger -- he actually had things to say.)

I'll try:
Superscript[super]tm[/super]

edited to say:
It doesn't work. BUT
ALT + 132 could work; let's see
Superscriptä

Nope, that didn't work, either.
I'll try again, using MSWord:
Superscriptä

Nah! Funny, it worked for clockwork (and I am sure that I have used it in another thread), but it didn't work this time.

I'm not actually sure. I just type in "(tm)" in Microsoft Word and it automatically does the ™ thing. Then I just copy and paste into babble.

Flipping through my old computer books, the trademark isn't in the ASCII character set (so you can't do the ALT-xxx thing), so it must be some kind of ANSI character set thing, in which case I don't know.
My Programming Windows books don't seem to mention it either.

Hmmm... must be magic.
editted to add: maybe you can get a font display program and somewhere, somehow, you might discover what to do if you don't have Word (don't seem to be able to do it with WordPad)

'nother edit: use the insert|symbol button to get the ™ thing. Apparently there are two of them.
™™™™™™™™™™™™™™™™™™™™™™™™™͐ 2;™™™™™™™™
hehe

Meades, why exactly did you join the Liberals in the first place? I'm certainly not trying to mock you or anything; just genuinally curious and wondering what drew you to the party. Was it family history, or something?

(Of course if you don't want to answer, it's none of my damn business)
